Automated Vehicles Symposium in San Francisco

A delegation of ADVI partners is heading to the Automated Vehicles Symposium in San Francisco from 11-13 July.

To make best use of the not-to-be-missed international event, a series of meetings will occur with high-level government officials in Washington and Phoenix, as well as a Transurban Express Lanes tour and presentation, a visit to the Aspen Institute, and a meeting with Chris Spear, President and CEO of American Trucking Associations.

A highlight of the US visit is expected to be a special evening function with Austrade at the Australian Consulate, where the Australian delegation will network with key organisations undertaking research and testing of driverless vehicles.

Also included in a fully-packed agenda are meetings with BestMile and AECOM in San Francisco, followed by a visit to Peloton Technology in Mountain View, California.

Now in its fourth year, the Automated Vehicles Symposium brings together industry, government, and academia from around the world to share information about complex technology, operations, and policy issues, with keynote discussion topics to law, infrastructure, human factors, shared mobility, and cybersecurity matters, as well as public policy, and consumer acceptance.

The Australian delegation includes representatives from ADVI, ARRB, RACWA, RAA, DPTI, NTC, Telstra, RDM Group, TRL and Transurban, and more about the symposium can be found at automatedvehiclessymposium.org/home
